Just wanted to write a quick note so everyone knows what Sarah and I are up to and to explain why some of the administrative crap on the site is a little intermittent.

We’re traveling around montana right now. over the last few weeks we’ve been camping, hiking, and making quickforrays to my mom’s property and into various towns. which means we’re outside alot (i chapped my lower lip until it cracked. just mylower lip, wierd huh?). Adjusting to this kind of sporadic and constantly moving lifestyle is taking more out of us than we’d thought it would. but slowly it’s seeming more normal.

anyway, I haven’t had alot of internet time, and when I do get it I kind of sit there stupidly at a total loss for what I need todo. Also alot of my bad writing goes into trying to generate content for our blogwhich somehow, withnothing todo all daybut what we want to do, isnt getting alot of attention. so anyway, if anyone wants to be upgraded to adminstrator and do a little of the oking comments etc let me know.

but today i feel like the damn is breaking and if I can keep up my current energy I might get some poems redrafted, some posts written at theother site, and maybe even a few of the little tweaks that need to be done here taken care of.

sothere you have it. there’s a storm rolling in from the south, thedogs are restless. today so far I’ve stackedfire wood, fed a bunch of pork to a giant ant hill, and tried to teach my dog not to play with horses. I’m parched but well fed. I’ve been having the most lucid dreams about being back in class at reed and not having done my reading. of being chased bymeth heads around mansions and running into old friends who hung themselves. what are you kids up to? write a little about yur day to day, cuz i want to read yur poems and also know what you’re doing. oh and in a few days I’ll be 25…

oh and i’m thinking weneed weeklypoetry challenges forshits… like write a ghazal withthe last words being gopher carcass. something like that.thoughts?

maybe weekly challenges, but not w/ weird words like ghazal. i don’t know why, exercies like that always froze me up, unless they’re more open-ended. i wish i were on a road trip. maybe form poem challenges???????????

i keep having this reoccuring dream that im in high school and i have to retake algebra 2.

algebra 2 is easy i just did precalculus in 2 weeks heh e haw haw. poetry challenges are good but no specific forms because i do not know any forms and i would have to look them up on the internet whihc would take two days out here and lots of headaches.

well obviously i would include the form with the challenge, duh sarah. duh. and ghazal is just a arabic form which is kinda easier than the standard european forms in the sense that you don’t have to count syllables etc, although writing couplets with completely different subjetcs is harder than you’d at first think. anyway, lets do a sonnet next week. thats trouble! ill make a post about it tomorrow and we’ll see if anyone picks it up. also i’m thinking we should all harass chalcey by emailing her until she posts. we’ll call it south shore posting. ahh, sarah is trying to beat the dorkiness out of me now.

sonnet? okay. shit. when we write sonnets we’re supposed to talk about beautiful young men w/ golden locks, right? that’s all i remember about shakespeare. okay. golden locks it is.

i thought you meant ghazal the animal. you poetry geeks are too much.

sarah- after reading yr comment i feel like i must one up in you in math courses or something. like take calculus in one week. you’re on.
